About: Boerner’s Botanical Gardens is Milwaukee County’s living museum. Some of us know this botanical garden as Whitnall Park. Whitnall Park came from Charles B. Whitnall, Secretary of Milwaukee County Park Commission from 1907 to 1941. It was him who had a dream to set aside a place so that people could go to enjoy lakes, streams, wildlife, flowers, and trees. He worked hard to advocate its purchase by the county. Later, the park is renamed after a young 26-year-old architecture, Alfred L. Boerner who designed the original five formal gardens. Boerner is also a partner with Whitnall in developing and making a botanical garden dream into a reality.
My Experiences: Boerner’s Botanical Garden is a great botanical garden to visit. I have been there on several occasions. I went there with my family to browse around the beautiful sceneries and being mesmerized by the beauties the garden gives. I have been there to attend a friend’s wedding pictures and have been there for my own picture frenzies. There are many magnificent views that it’s hard for anyone to visit without snapping a few pictures of his/her own. In May, there will be a big field of tulips blossoming. Other seasons, you’ll be captivated with roses, lilacs, daffodils, magnolias, lilies, etc… This is a place great for browsing, family quality time, wedding photos, friend visitations, etc…
Pros: great views for every season, variety of flowers and sceneries, a living museum of Milwaukee County
Cons: only in Milwaukee County
I rate it 5 stars!
