About: Mike Shannon is an ex-St. Louis Cardinal baseball player and a current broadcaster. This restaurant is owned by Mike Shannon’s daughter Pat Shannon-VanMatre. The location of the restaurant replaces the old Mark Twain bank building in downtown St. Louis. The restaurant was opened in 2006.
My Experiences: During our last night in St. Louis, MO, we decided to treat ourselves to fine dining at Mike Shannon’s Steaks and Seafood Restaurant for steaks. There were three of us. One of us came to St. Louis to attend a conference and two of us came along for sightseeing. We have the opportunity to try out many restaurants in St. Louis. This final visit was by far the most expensive, most excellent customer service, best night view of the city, and the receipt blinded all of our eyes. I have tasted better food, but indeed, the medium rare filet was delicious and the mashed potatoes were awesome! The wine… yes, the wine was strong for me.
Pros: downtown St. Louis, MO views, fine dining, excellent customer service, coat check, soft background music
Cons: very expensive
I rate it 4 stars!
