My Experience: I started reading Rancher’s Wild Secret on 11/26/2019 and finished it on 11/29/2019. This book is my first adult romance read and it was great! Emerson’s dad is funny with his comment on the pound sign instead of hashtags. My thought exactly when I first saw it years ago. I like the fast paced and easy to read writing style. Adult romance sure don’t beat around the bushes. They go after what they want. It reminds me of why I prefer to read YA because I enjoyed the shyness and flirt. I like the forbidden love though the love and the sex happen pretty quick. The dual perspectives was good and honest. A short quick read.
This book is told in the third person point of view following Emerson, 29 ambassador of her family’s wine brand. She’s feeling bored at her family vineyard’s launch party, especially feeling weary about her impending arranged marriage. The alternative view was Holden, wealthiest developer. He came to work on the ranch for Emerson’s dad and to revenge. Emerson’s dad was the one who ruined someone Holden cares for. They ended up working together because of a new business idea. Emerson and Holden has an instant attraction but she’s currently engaged while he wanted revenge.
Pro: fast paced, page turner, humor, family, forbidden love
I rate it 4 stars!
