My Experience: I started reading Dishwasher’s Big Job for my toddler’s nap time on 8/27/2021 and we finished it in one sitting. We have since read it again a few times. A compact book for little hands, this book is a board book my little girl’s hands like to reach for often. She would flip through and I would show her how the appliance works as illustrated in the book. The googly eyes were a nice touch!
This book opens up to show readers this is what a dishwasher looks like. And its big job is to wash dishes. The illustrations showed readers a sink full of dirty dishes. Next few pages, readers will see how a dishwasher works. And then young readers will see the dirty dishes getting what looks like a bubble bath.
Dishwasher’s Big Job was well put together. A cute series for early readers learning important machines around the house. My 2 year old daughter uses our dishwasher as her drum set, banging on it and laughing at the noise. Now, however, she able to learn that it’s more useful than the noise it makes. One vocabulary word used in this board book that surprised me was bedraggled bowls! Such a big word for early readers. Love the humor of the spoon being in a sauna and the sippy cup getting a shower. I recommend this series for kids everywhere.
I rate it 5 stars!
