Synopsis from Macmillan Publishers:

It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that the best of all colors is green. That’s right, green is the most beautiful and delightful. Everyone agrees. And so we made this activity book, celebrating the greatest color of all.

Packed with fun activities like mazes, one-color coloring, spot-the-difference, creative writing prompts, drawing lessons, search & finds, paper toy crafts, and more! With bonus stickers included, celebrate your favorite color like you’ve never done before.

And unlike other books, this one was specially made with EVEN MORE green inks to create more variations of the color than you’ve ever seen in print!

Oh, and we also created seven other activity books celebrating those other—clearly subpar—colors that people seem to also like for some silly reason: RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLUE, PINK, PURPLE, and BLACK. The MY FAVORITE COLOR ACTIVITY BOOK series has a color for everyone!

My Experience: I started monitoring my 9 year old son working on this activity book since 7/16/2021. We have since spent time on it every now and then. I loved interactive workbooks and this workbook is one of them. I have been introducing it to my son since he was 4. Other workbooks I have reviewed where my son worked on were Weekly Reader: Summer Express for PreK to 1st Grade, Weekly Reader: Summer Express for PreK and K, and Summer Brain Quest. This book had many fun activities. My son first dived into finding the hidden objects. Then he searched for what’s the difference on objects between two pages. We worked on learning how to make stars together. I have videos of him working on this workbook on my Instagram account at Howusefulitis. The directions on how to make stars were easy to follow. I loved the variety of activities given in this book. Besides the hands-on activities there is even a blender recipe for a smoothie! This review focused on the green book so all activities are green even the smoothie is green.

This paperback opened up to a page where readers can put down their name for ownership of this book. Next, readers were given the opportunity to complete a few prompt sentences as to why they loved this particular color. Another page informed readers that their favorite color existed in other parts of the world in different forms. For this green book, there are Emeralds from Zambia, The Amazon Jungle in Brazil, Bamboo Grove in Japan, etc. Turned the page and readers were presented with a two-page layout of what looked like the same illustrations but if looking closely, readers can mark the differences between the two pictures. Next two pages, readers were given a task to go on a scavenger hunt around the house or outside the house and draw down any green objects. Another page gave readers directions on how to make green treats such as a lime spritzer or mint milkshake. There’s an activity for dyeing green too. There were mazes, quick facts, love letter writing and folding, painting, finding hidden objects, and so much more! The last page has stickers of everything such as shapes, animals, clothing items, etc.

My Favorite Color is Green was well designed, organized, and illustrated. A different activity book than we have experienced. In other workbooks that my son did, it was only learning and writing. This interactive activity book challenged my son with activities that may exert him. Reading and writing one moment and moving and doing the next. There’s never a dull moment. I wonder if other colors in this series have the same activities but just in different colors or would they be slightly different. I think there would be slightly different because green facts in this book couldn’t be the same as pink or red facts in pink or red book. I’m actually curious about other color book’s activities. I think this interactive activity book is excellent for kids as gifts this coming holiday. Kids need activities to keep them busy so they can stay out of trouble and this series of Favorite Colors is perfect because it has so many fun and different activities packed in these pages. I highly recommend this to everyone.

I rate it 5 stars!
